Honest Question to Atheists - Best Argument?

Even if the argument turned out to be completely fabricated or disprovable, did it at the very least draw you closer to believing the Bible is God's Word and all that such a belief entails?

If not, has there ever been an argument that you didn't know how to answer, or that surprised you  against your expectations?

Not looking for "All Christian arguments are idiotic" replies. This is an honest question.

No, I've never found any argument for belief in a literal 'god' the least bit tempting.

RE: Honest Question to Atheists - Best Argument?
i have to wholly agree with http://atheistforums.org/user-7642.html. I too once sought this God everyone was saying "I feel the love of Jesus." No such thing happened for me. Now what would pops say if I said i found this experience in say another religion or none at all just good meditation?

He would say it was false and i should reject it because it was not his religion. He might even say Satan some how decieved me into feeling elated at understanding (for a short time) my place in the universe.

I could point out that many people have had similar experiences such as this thru-out the world thru-out history. well before Jesus ever showed up. No christianity needed.

He would say it's false because it only happened a short time. I am told by other practices that enlightment is a constant practice.

Then we compare. those who claim the feeling of the love of the jesus vrs those who practice enlightment and try to act in compasion every day.

Most religions don't impress but a good set of moral HUMAN practices have shown real moral improvement.

Buhdism is a good example but even better are the practices of martial arts taught in the dojos/dojangs every day. the five tennents of tae kwon do for example are : courtesy, integrity, perserverence, self disipline, and indomitable spirit. plus there are many other good sound moral principles taught such as "put first things first"(priorties), "think win win"(compromise), "begin with the end in mind"(setting goals) and most importantly the real meaning of respect "treat others as you would want to be treated". The golden rule is taught way more vigorously in these places than in the churches from what I've seen. However it is practiced every day. That's how it works in real life (and when the punches and kicks are flying you tend to learn respect very quickly).

So in this the chiristians of today will only word play and try to turn this statement with phrase but true example... I'dd like to see it.

My point is that WE as humans are quite capable of good moral decisions with out the help of a supernatural absent parent. Dont worry pops it's not just your faith that doesn't work its all of them. Remember we are all athiest but some of us believe in one few god than others.

so no now that I have seen with the light of time and experience( I am no longer a guilable child) no argument short of God/s/Godess/es coming down in plain view will convince me of any of it.
