Boru

Probably covered by #6, but I will add this to list for now. Thanks. [Image: thumbsup.gif]

You find that interesting?!!! Huh

It's obviously copy pasted from some apologetic handout. I bet you anything he's already got his standard answers coming with it as well. It's also bullcrap on so many levels, since it assumes something that isn't exactly a hallmark or atheists. The belief that there actually is a god and not simply some people making all that shit up. Therefore the questions can be answered by people did it, people did it, people do it ad nauseam. Except the last question, which again is pure apologetic pleading.

I think it's very telling that humans, supposedly the flawed creation of God, have come together and created a concept of justice which is superior than that of its creator. We understand that punishments need to fit their crimes and that thought-crime is something which should not be punished.

Thank you. Yes, this would be #2 on my list, I think.

I'm actually studying this topic, so perhaps I will address it soon.

I have no idea where it's from.

But I still thought those were good questions. Those things he listed are all things that people struggle with, both theist and not. Shy
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

It would be helpful if you were more specific about the nature of your moral objection. For example, #4 & #6 both cover moral issues, so is there something more that you feel needs to be addressed?

No, usually they don't if they don't believe in a god in the first place. God was created in man's (and I mean man) image and men (and I mean men) were responsible for all of the above. So the questions are moot on a very fundamental level. Other than that god's fan club can get kind of cruel and bothersome occasionally.

Most of these objections have been mentioned by one or more members of this forum during the two months I have been a member, so yes, I think that atheists have reasons why they first began to doubt and/or why they currently believe that God does not exist.
