Should be a core question. That sounds pretty evil to me lol. I can't imagine being happy about something bad happening to someone else...

I mean, I guess if I really disliked them, and it was something only mildly bad, like they stepped on dog poo or something, I'd be happy.

But other than that, no.

It does seem evil, and yet, we train our children to feel good when bad things happen to other people.

Like, when my baby sister was a little kid she had really big feet. "I don't want to have big feet." she wailed. Not knowing any better, I told her to be glad because there were people in the world who didn't have any feet.

We mean well, but it's like Pavlov's dogs, an automatic response because at an early age we were taught that we could feel good when bad things happened to others. It's something to stop and think about.

What's more interesting, I think, is whether we think the characteristics stated by the website really are good, and why we do or don't think so.

They're asking about friendliness, cooperation, empathy. All things that I like, to be sure, but what makes them "good"?

Why does it not, for example, ask about obedience to authority, appropriate disgust/sanctity, or loyalty?

I know, I know, it's just a superficial quiz on the internet. But this is just the sort of thing that my twisted philosopher's mind latches onto.

I scored good - bad - good, although I think the 'flesh' category is a bit too absolute to be useful. Can I be a raging asshole? Darn tootin'! But, I'm not like that all the time. It depends on how I'm feeling, what's actually going on, the people involved, etc.

I do apparently make a good first impression. The people who don't know me really seem to like me. Heh, suckers. I've also been told I'm an incredible (and mostly successful) flirt, which surprised me because I don't do it consciously.
