Have you ever been marked to be a god?

Yesterday I showed a friend of mine how to start Windows within Windows in order to play an old Russian game which doesn't work well with Windows 7 and he said I was a god.

I also showed him another "magic" which included starting Windows within Windows within Windows and he started looking at me as if I had turned water into wine. If I hadn't changed the subject, I'm almost certain he would have started kissing my feet.
Have you ever done something to make people mark you to be a god? For me it was the first time ever.

And despite I'm an atheist, it felt good to be a god.
To those who don't understand the "Windows within Windows" phrase, it's just running a virtual machine of Windows xp in Windows 7 environment. It's no big deal and surely it's no magic. Well, it is "magic" but no the kinda magic most people think about.

I hear 'god' a lot when I'm fucking. Does that count?

I don't have any godlike abilities. Or regular ones. So I guess you could say an emphatic no.
I don't know. I just powered on the virtual machine, ran the game and his exact words were "You're God!" but when I started another virtual machine within the already started one, he had this strange look, so I had to change the subject otherwise I might accidentally start a new religion as ridiculous as the flying spaghetti monster.

'God' and 'godlike' are two of those overused words that get up me hooter, like 'brilliant' or 'genius' or 'incredible'.
Wtf ever happened to phrases like, 'very good' or 'remarkable'? It seems that if human beings don't launch directly into superlatives, they can't express admiration, for...well...anything.
Give you an example: The last time we had a rugby party at our place, we're watching the game on telly when one of the players (not an All Black, more's the pity) broke a tackle and made his try from a run of about twenty yards. It was an exciting play by a very good player. One of my mates literally jumps out of his chair and shouts 'Genius!!' Why?

To some people, possessing knowledge is a strange and mysterious quality. People who have presumably never heard of the Internet or a library.

The people in my basement regularly refer to me as god. They want to eat, after all.

Not as God, but a friend who had recently joined a weird cult once announced that I was a torch bearer of the violet flame ushering in (or ending?) the age of the ascended Master St. Germain.
