It is hard to imagine a viable candidate emerging from the current cesspool of turds.

The US has traditionally been short-sighted in terms of foreign policy because it is one of the few areas in which the President has little Congressional oversight (excepting treaties and ambassadorships, of course); so that Presidents can't steer their own course quite freely. That results in major changes in foreign policy happening every four or eight years.

"Institutionalized ADD" . . . perfect!  I hereby request permission to shamelessly appropriate this phrase for future use.  Big Grin

Sounds really dangerous and sinister what the Iranians plan to do with their new found freedoms.

Quote: Iran plans to annually attract 20 million tourists by 2025 which could generate $30 billion of revenues.
The country is among the world’s top potential tourist destinations with a treasure trove of ancient sites, including 17 places listed by the UNESCO. Tourism, however, is a neglected industry in Iran which has relied on oil exports for decades.
Quote: Head of the Iran Touring and Tourism Investment Company (ITTIC) Mohsen Qarib said in June the country will face a “tsunami” of foreign tourists once a nuclear agreement is concluded and sanctions on the country are lifted.
