It's a funny word and I like it. You wonderful bunch of cunts.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

RE: Swearing
Cunt is so much better with a British or Scottish accent.

"Coont" sounds so much better than "cuhnt."
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

But it won't be fun to say if it's acceptable! Your crusade is dangerous sir, and I intend to oppose it

And when you suspend your individual beauty you also give up a lot of your humanity. You will do things in the name of a group that you would never do on your own. Injuring, hurting, killing, drinking are all part of it, because you've lost your identity, because you now owe your allegiance to this thing that's bigger than you are and that controls you.”  - George Carlin

Many things sound better with a Scottish accent.

But I know a lot of people who get butthurt over cussing. What's your opinion of it?

To me they're just words. They're good for adding emphasis. Most of the time there's no emotion behind my cussing, but it's associated with anger and aggressiveness. I get that with vulgar insults, but the rest don't seem aggressive to me.

I noticed the more religious a person, the more outraged they get over swearwords.....coinkydoink?

I'll give my actual 2 cents on this...

For me, whenever I see people criticising bad language/swearing on here, I find it quite naive, and more than a little patronising. Like, I write how I speak. I swear a lot. Don't like it? Don't listen. Grow up and get used to it, is my response. Some people seem to come here under the impression this is some super formal debate site where people must abide by some strict code of conduct.

Fuck that. This is just a forum. Far too many people get offended by bad language and euphemisms IMO and just because you do doesn't grant you a mighty pedestal to look down on everyone else who doesn't share the same sensitivities. If you can't take what people say on the internet with some pinch of salt, on a place like this of all places, then stick to whatever sheltered neighbourhood you live in. The internet obviously ain't for you.

My recent ex-, from Ealing, absolutely detested that word. I could piss her off to no end by dropping it into the conversation.

RE: Swearing
I usually find those substitute words that Americans often use instead of proper swear words more offensive than the originals, maybe because the practice somehow assumes that the words themselves are inherently offensive and a slightly different one which obviously is meant as a 1:1 substitute, somehow isn't? Heck, you can substitute whichever letters in any freaking cuss words you like, isn't Jebus still going to know and will let you barn in heck for epernity like the girty dastard you are?

I find it even more aggravating when people say "F-word", or worse, "F-bomb" - that gives me cancer. Really, I find it deeply offensive, it's insulting the listeners' intelligence, so don't use it. Smile
I'm not quite as horrified about ppl saying "N-word" because it is a racist slur directed against a certain group. Also, as a kraut cracker I'm not in the in-group and have white nazi guilt or something.

Baahahahaha went off the rails at the the end there.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue
