I intend to do a fresh install on one of my systems and then try reverting back to 7 by reinstalling. However, it's entirely possible that different classes of keys will work differently (I have a volume licensing key that behaves somewhat differently from retail and OEM keys).

I have not tried it yet with W7, but my XP machine has three boots, MS-DOS 6.2, W98 and XP.

I use a Mac. Windoze is for my work machine for equipment programming. Even some DOS stuff. I do have a personal windoze machine dedicated to gaming which only gets updated when I am forced. Too many times I have updated and then stuff does not work. At work, it is unacceptable due to the nature of my job and at home, "Hey, it works, why fuck with it?".
I did make the mistake of upgrading my Mac server to Yosemite. BIG FUCKING MISTAKE. I will probably go back to Snow Leopard soon.

Guys, those who were eligible for the free upgrade.
Do I have the option of a manual clean install or does it need to upgrade the "current" win7 already installed.
I just don't have the free space on my ssd to dl and install over the top.

I will be able to answer this definitively later. I believe you can, as long as you have a valid product key.

There's always Linux. Best of all, it's free.

Heh, I still see the occasional XP screensaver on the displays in the London Underground. Makes me feel all nostalgic and shit, until I ponder the terrifying security vulnerabilities it entails.

That's basically what I want to know also - though for different reasons.
