You know, as much as I can appreciate the man's principles, I remember the Carter administration. Economically, it was a disaster.

There's a lot more to foreign policy than not starting wars. Carter projected weakness - something you must not do when facing down wolves. I doubt it's any coincidence that the Iranians released the hostages on the day Reagan took office.
