Evisceration of the Exodus myth

RE: Evisceration of the Exodus myth
So "Xtianity Today" is your source?  Laughable.

See what they wrote here.

Quote:Answering these skeptics, however, is not always so easy as one might expect. The fact is that not one shred of direct archaeological evidence has been found for Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob or the 400-plus years the children of Israel sojourned in Egypt. The same is true for their miraculous exodus from slavery.

They got that part right.

Add in the so-called Conquest which is horseshit, too.

It is not worth subscribing to this bullshit to find out what "miraculous" proof these shitheads think they have come up with.  I'm sure its a doozie.

Shows that their not trying to evade the the facts. As I said, the amount of circumstantial evidence continues to grow.

If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Give us your very best three pieces of circumstantial evidence.  Got any examples?

There are still flies in Egypt. Could be descendants of the fourth plaque. Is that circumstantial enough for you?

You do realize that article is from 1998? Or did you hope, we wouldn't realize?

I can't be arsed to look all the recent evidence to the contrary. But a lot of jewish archeologists hold the opinion of the exodus never having happened.

As for the story itself - notice that pharao never has a name. And as has been said, a real pharao and his army would have been missed. Enough so to make it into writing.

Don't forget about the million man army from Sudan that invaded Judea. It had the same travel agent that Moses used.

A few days ago in RL, I had a theist proudly state that they have recently found evidence of camps along the route of the biblical exodus...I just shook my head in amazement...um...2 camels and 7 people does not an exodus make. yes, there are routes of common travel across the Sinai desert and to no surprise, evidence of such camps...but No, there is zero evidence that 2 million people stomped around in a huge circle in the Sinai desert for 40 years.
You, not a mythical god, are the author of your book of life, make it one worth reading..and living.

RE: Evisceration of the Exodus myth
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
