Guys are more ambivalent.
I'm pretty ambivalent and I'm not a guy

The prospect of having one of those fat leeches growing in me would have me pretty ambivalent too.

And some people are better off never babysitting a day in their lives. Honestly, babysitting is one of the last things I would ever volunteer to do.

Ever seen that scene from Alien?? That's what I imagine being pregnant to be like...

Cute bunnies and doggies though. I could cuddle and play with them all day long ^_^
I'm a 30 year old woman and I knew from the age of like 6 that I don't want kids. I had been given one of those dolls that you feed and it's supposed to poop and you change its diaper and I was like "that's it for me, I'm never doin this for real!"

I worked for a guy who got strong-armed by family into baby sitting, once. He got into a game with the kid where they would take turns screaming at the top of their lungs to see who could scream loudest. The kid became very fond of this exercise. My boss was never asked to baby sit again.

You were fortunate to be given such an effective educational toy so young.

Normally, when someone announces their pregnancy, it's a happy time. You say congratulations, smile at them really big, give a ton of well wishes, go to baby showers, give gifts, etc.
I can't imagine how someone who does think it's right to have kids would react to such news lol. I've never known anyone like that. Do you feel in any way annoyed, a little resentful, or kinda look down on the person a little bit? If so, do you still go along with the "normal" reaction and pretend to be happy about the news?
One still says "congratulations." It is not going to do any good to tell them they have made a mistake. And if one convinced them at that point, it would probably not be a good thing.
But yes, I do look down on them. I just don't tell them that, as it would be rude.
As for dealing with them in the future, I have found that many breeders actively avoid childless couples. More than once, I have had people introduce themselves, trying to make new friends, who immediately became uninterested in us the moment they learned we have no children.

Lol, really? No one's ever called me that before. Making good long term choices and looking at the big picture seems pretty basic to me. Now I'll have to ask my friend tomorrow if I come off as a control freak lol.
No, you don't come off as a control freak. Planning for the future makes good sense. People who don't plan for the future often end up with problems in the future caused by their stupidity.

I've never met a group of people so anti kids lol. Interesting. I wonder why that is?
When I was a Christian, I did not want children. I have never believed the world is a fit place for children. My atheism has nothing to do with it.
