At best, at least that I've seen and you can direct me to a specific post where you do otherwise if I'm wrong, you just say "this is what I believe, this is what my church teaches, so there".  You're certainly welcome to your opinions, but if blind faith is all your opinions are based on, how can anyone take you seriously, especially now that you are telling us that you refuse to talk about your beliefs, as you recently said in post #141.  How can you expect anyone to think that your beliefs are valid if  you cannot spell out why you hold them, other than "the church says so"?

I said what I believe/what the Church teaches because I was asked, and gave the short answer as to why, which involved more than just "because it's unnatural" and definitely did not involve "because the church says so." I did this several times. And I also explained why I gave the short answer, and said that I have decided to no longer delve too deeply into my faith on this forum (the continued straws are a good example).

I shouldn't have to go through and find those posts for you. They are all on this thread. If you are genuinely interested in knowing, read the thread. Otherwise it seems like you're just trying to argue for the sake of arguing.

It's not just random people who think the Catholic Church is full of shit. The whole "Welcome Back" PR campaign you church is spending millions of dollars on is indicative of the dire straits your beloved organizations finds itself in. If they can't bamboozle boatloads of Africans and Asians that their specific brand of woo is super-dooper awesome, your church will likely die off within the next few decades.

Once that happens, your personal beliefs about the morality of anything, including IVF, will amount to nothing more than pissing in the wind.

Frankly, I look forward to that day.

She's made it explicitly clear through both her words and actions from day one that her reason for being here is to listen, yes listen, to the standpoints of us atheists because she is genuinely curious about our opinions. "Force-feeding" us her beliefs is the antithesis of her purpose for being here, she only shares her beliefs when directly asked about them.

She's made it explicitly clear through both her words and actions from day one that her reason for being here is to listen, yes listen, to the standpoints of us atheists because she is genuinely curious about our opinions. "Force-feeding" us her beliefs is the antithesis of her purpose for being here, she only shares her beliefs when directly asked about them.

The content of her various posts, IMO, contradict your description of her participation.

In any intellectual discussion, if you present "I believe X because Y", you are expected to defend Y.  How else is anyone supposed to know if Y is a credible reason for your position on X?  You might as well be saying "I believe in astral projection because of unicorns".  It's why the religious have absolutely no credibility in these discussions because you slam straight into an immovable wall of blind faith that you have no explanation for, other than wishful thinking.  Oh sure, you'll just say you don't care and I'm sure you don't because it's much easier than actually having an intellectual discussion about what is inherently an ignorant belief system, but that does put you into the exact same category as people who believe in unicorns and leprechauns and magical fairies.  I'm sure that offends you, but you did it to yourself.

I'm pretty sure if you go back far enough, that whole squabble between you and her originated from a direct question leveled at her about her beliefs. I can assure you she has no interest in forcing her beliefs on you.
