2015 NFL thread

Your alignment idea could certainly work, but I cringe at the idea of expansion. Not that some cities may not be deserving, but I worry about talent dilution. Even today some teams have to field pretty shitty NFL quarterbacks and this isn't always caused by injuries. Hell, most teams can't feature an every down back anymore.

Much of this has to do with the way the college game has changed. Maybe the solution isn't expansion into the NFL, but the NFL starting a development league with independent teams set-up along the lines of tiers of European Association Football, not like the USFL where they were in direct competition for talent.

Or, maybe all businesses can stop asking for welfare, pay all workers better directly, that way everyone can afford more, protecting the feedback loop of the rich.

Oh and the claim that big college sports programs always fund the collage is a myth. Many colleges are in dept because of their programs, which in turn they have to raise tuition rates. Why? Because the corporate merchandising industry has it's claws in it.

That was not a facemask. I like it, because I have Aaron Rodgers in one of my fantasy leagues, but wow. Not a facemask. That play should never have happened.

I'm not completely certain what the nuances on that rule are.

For a QB, you can't touch his helmet with any kind of force. If they had called hands to the face, I think you could have made an argument there, although a weak one at best. His hand grazed the facemask on the way to grasping his jersey at his shoulder.

There is no 5 yarder any more. It has to be a 15 yarder. And that was not a 15 yard penalty.

Well at least the Ravens didn't play tonight, so no chance of them losing. LOL. I know... I just did that to my own team. I still love them though.

What's "any kind of force" mean in that context? If I'm not mistaken, it did cause his helmet to move. Not sure if that's sufficient. Obviously it wasn't challengeable.
