We always find someone to make the butt of our jokes and, in recent years, it has been the French. It really began during WWII. That's when the 'surrender' jokes about France originated. Then, when we went into Iraq, France did not support us, and at the time, most Americans were still buying the lie. That's when the French jokes began in earnest. They are simply jokes. Before the French it was 'Polacks' (the Polish), though I have no idea why.
Why not Americans?? (USA) Why don't you make yourselves the butt of your jokes?? You guys really are funny.
Ausies have been making ourselves the butt of jokes for ages.
