Was just trying to encourage you to quit with a little tongue and cheek, quitting is a competition, you're competing for your life against an enemy that can be defeated, it's a gift worth giving yourself.

I don't agree that I'm competing for my life. You've moved on to offending me instead of yourself. I guess you would call that progress - not me though.

Go ahead smoke yourself to death, it's no skin off my teeth, smoking causes more things to go wrong with the body than the lungs, it's a contributor to colon cancer, want to wear a bag on your side the rest of your life, just keep smoking. I offered only a kind incentive and you accuse me of offending you, that's just plain ugly.

There are times... when I feel like I just need to smoke so bad.
The other day when I was driving it occurred to me to check the ashtray in my truck. It was clean and empty except for a partially smoked Camel. No idea how long it had been there. In the past, I probably would have been tempted to fire that bad boy up.
I tossed it in the garbage. Yay, me.
Nice job! Hang in there buddy. Have you considered smoking an E-Cig with no nicotine, or do you think that would make you want to smoke a real one again?

Yeah I think that would end up being triggering, and I really am concerned about my lung health due to my medical history. I'm skeptical of any e-cig safety claims at this point.

NOT for the squeamish:

excerpt:
Lois Kehr, who lives nearby, said she was taking a walk around the time Merrill left the assisted living facility. A woman waved her down and told her to call 911 because a woman’s “face was on fire.” Kehr immediately called 911.

Yeah your right, doing the E-cig thing would be a trigger to return to smoking and you are as you say, doing this for lung health. I can't see how anything other than the air we breath could be safe. Keep up the good work and remember the gift you're giving yourself.

32 days and still going strong.
The persistent congestion is clearing, I can breathe easier and deeper than at any time in recent memory, and my endurance is improving.

I am very proud of you. I remember when my grandparents stopped smoking; they felt so much healthier as a result and it certainly made it easier for me as well, not having to breath in all that nasty second hand smoke.
