That would be true if me and you were the only two beings surrounded by nothingness.

'Everything else' is hardly a reference point, because a whole lot of that 'everything else' is moving as well.....
What Neim said. Everything else is also apparently moving away from us (see Hubble), so how do you define who's at rest based on that?
