My guns (and there are many) have never caused a human gun death or human gun injury. Not even a human gun close call. Those that are anti gun inclined need to come up with something better than the whole gun industry and NRA have to be stopped. To me that is just a mindless, thoughtless rant. It is not rational or realistic. I'm willing to listen to ideas on limitation and control. Let me know what ya got.

Don't get me wrong, this is a tragedy that should not have happened. Just because I own/use guns responsibly does not mean that I am without compassion.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Stop it. This is is a dodge. Whites, blacks, religious, mentally ill, accident, suicide, are all due to the volume of guns, ease of access, due to the fear mongering marketing by the makers and their corporate lobbists the NRA

You do realize that none of my posts regarding this issue have even speculated on the motivations or demographics of the perpetrators or victims, yes? I'm- sort of- agreeing with you and expanding on your point, even while you're disagreeing with me.

This may be the final straw for me. I need some time to formulate my thoughts, so I'm not going to post anything substantive here. But after Sandy Hook, and Aurora, and everywhere else... well, today I've reached the point where I'm just sick of it. Sick of guns. Sick of talking about people getting shot, or listening to news about people getting shot, or reading about people getting shot. Physically sick

According to the shooter's manifesto, he claimed to be responding to Dylann Roof's desire for a race war. Um... where's Joe the Plumber when his country needs him?

Nobody is talking about you personally other than your paranoid ignorance. Liberals own guns too.

You are not offering up any solutions, you are merely protecting an object as if it were a human with rights.

Those reporters, the church victims, had a right to life. If you think this is about you, you are no different to me than when liberals flip out when you criticise the Koran, even when you tell them you have no interest in a total ban.

Only an idiot thinks the amount of gun death is acceptable, anymore than, while Muslims have rights, the Koran, as an object does not.

You know what?

I fucking agree with Brian wholeheartedly here.

Can we please stop with this bullshit 'guns don't kill people' argument? Yeah, we know already. People kill people. People with fucking guns kill people.

I'd have thought it blatantly fucking obvious.

Ofcourse not all gun owners are nutjob lunatics who go out shooting everyone. Nobody is even faintly suggesting that all gun owners are people without compassion. But it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. Hell, it's long since past that time.

As a society we have to run the place around those dickhead 1% of people who fuck things up for everyone else.

Whenever I see people say shit like "oh we should look into why people kill each other" or "we need to sort out mental health before implementing more gun control" blah blah fucking blah... It's nothing more than a deflection from the fact that the main fucking problem in all these discussions are guns, and the relatively easy access people have to them.

Why is it every time gun control gets brought up, the people who want to defend gun rights do everything they can to deflect attention away from the common denominator, the obvious elephant in the room?

The mind boggles me. What sane person actually has a reason to oppose better gun legislation besides "hurr durr I like guns".

By all means, I'm sure you do, but if even a small section of society abuses them at the rate they so clearly do, maybe it's time people really just grew up and got over the fact that guns are not conducive or necessary for a safe society.
