That depends on what 'devout' means.... And it is pretty loaded.

Well, yes. If devout means following the bible accurately, then I've never met any devout Christians. I've barely even heard of any alive today. I can guarantee I would not think they were good people, they would be pretty similar to members of ISIS.

There's a big difference between 'borderline religious mania side hugs only with the opposite sex' devout and 'church every Sunday' devout.
I voted A. Religion is not a cause, but it is most certainly an enabler of evil, and one of the most efficient ones we've invented. But it has little bearing on how good a person actually is, despite it puffing up its own meager importance.
Now I wanna know which prick voted C... Exactly, that's why I didn't cast a vote. I know deeply religious people who don't take the more bigoted messages of the bible literally and are the nicest peope in words as well as actions. And I know literalists whom I simply don't consider to be good people, since exclusivness and judgmental attitudes don't sit well with my definition of good. RE: Christians/good people

It can mean different things for different people, and I'm sure there are many Christians out there who would say *I* (CL) am definitely NOT devout and practicing lol. So let's say, if a person considers themselves devout and practicing, then you can take it to mean as much for the poll question. Also, I honestly did not mean for the question to be loaded, and am not sure what is making it come off that way to you. In what other way could I have asked the question so that it would not be loaded?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

As somebody who has lived his entire life in urban areas north of the Mason-Dixon Line and east of West Virginia, I can say that "good Christians" are a far more common encounter than bad ones. In fact I don't really know many Christians I would consider "bad" personally, mostly just know good ones.

That's like asking if i know any tall people that are biologists. Like there is supposed to be some sort of correlation between height and a degree in the field of biology.
I have known Good and Bad Christians. So i'm in for 'A'.
The only problem that rises from religion is evangelization, kids included. I for one, being baptized when I was 1 year old am saved. From what? Dunno. My wife is catholic and we reached an agreement. Any kids we spawn will choose their own path their faith, once they are able to think for themselves. Evangelists, from any kind sway people and I never been a good salesnan.

Some of the stuff I see posted here sometimes makes me wonder if some of you think being a Christian makes a person not be a good person. I'm glad to be reassured that such is not the case.
