How Long Will Christians Wait for the End Time to Come?
RE: How Long Will Christians Wait for the End Time to Come?
The Big Bang Theory is not necessary to atheism. The BBT is something the scientist understand, but you don't have to be a scientist to be an atheist. All you have to do is not believe in god. Every other thought, theory, concept or belief, whether true or not, is centrifugal to atheism.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Ouch, that stings bro, I minored in Physics...
I would more generally advocate that one only leave one entrance into their mind(reason), and keep the rest of it rather closed, as it is one hell of a lot easier to shovel shit in than it is to get it out.

If the evidence and reason for you to believe something isn't really any better than the reason you should believe some rural farmer from Arkansas got anally probed by interstellar visitors, then you probably shouldn't.

It's all they know, so they believe everyone else is the same. Fucking sad way to live life if you ask me.

I keep hoping anyways.

People will be celebrating in the streets. We'll have mardi gras all over the world and ticker tape, wine an champaign. A lot of women will get pregnant on that day. We'll have a new generation—the end times baby boomers.

and jello shots?  Big Grin this sounds fun.

Works out pretty good for the people on top, like Pat Robertson or Creflo Dollar, not so much for the ones being milked and having their brain cells obliterated by them.

I don't know if it's convenient (except that no going to church is convenient), but atheism isn't a religion.  It is a point of view on a single issue: is there a god or gods.

Nope, there are atheists who reject the big bang and believe in unicorns (not many I hope).  Beliefs concerning matters beyond is there a god, are matters beyond the definition of atheism.

But not a belief held by all atheists.

(August 30, 2015 at 6:34 pm)deep thinker Wrote: It would be like if I started an Anti-Atheism religion that refused to accept any theory that could not be observed.  Yes, my new religion does not define what it believes as true but clearly defines what it believes to be false.  This still qualifies as a belief system and a religion.

Sounds more like a philosophy than a religion.

(August 30, 2015 at 6:34 pm)deep thinker Wrote: If atheism were not a religion, it would be just as open minded to the existence of an eternal god as it is open to the idea of an eternal universe.

Most atheists admit the possibility of an eternal god, they just don't believe in one because there's no evidence of such a being.

Wait a minute now you have us believing in an eternal universe and a universe started with the big bang.  Besides that neither is required to be an atheist, it's kinda hard to believe in both those things at once.

(August 30, 2015 at 6:34 pm)deep thinker Wrote: How does it feel to talk so negatively about religious beliefs but spend so many hours of your life spewing your gospel of choice?

I do talk negatively about religious beliefs.  I don't believe they are true.  I enjoy conversations with those similarly free of religious beliefs.

Jello shots! Aw baby that must be jello because jelly don't shake like that.

It will be the first time in known history we can really have fun without somebody threatening to sic god on us.
