I wonder what the author would say the 'evolutionary purpose' is for homosexuality among: male lions, male bison, female penguins, male dolphins, male elephants, brown bear and other species?
Good point. One might almost think that sex drive alone was enough to explain why male dolphins will hump a turtle, each other or a number of other things. Lucky bastards probably don't have any god or religion to make them wrong about it.

Fundies who are worried about gays spawning more gays and promiscuously converting everyone, should vote *for* gay marriage. Opposition makes no sense even from the fundie lunatic perspective
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I get all those things are totally personal choices and I'm all about encouraging people to be responsible. It's really frustrating for me, seeing a straight person criticise gay people for doing shit straight people do all the time. We just don't have the privilege of individuality like they do. It's like if a straight person does any of that stuff it's "because they're stressed", if I did it it's "oh this is gay people...".
Cut to the chase. There is just too much spraying of juice going on. That's your problem.

So Cath-y, does the position of your church cause you any tension? Actually, I'm not that clear what the Catholic church's position is on gays and lesbians. Is there anything you're not telling us?

It's anti gay with a little less foaming from the mouth than in the evaqngelical department. It will be another few centuries until they finally lift the ban, but at least they don't call for stoning them as some rasving pastors do.
The who am I to judge quote by the pope is as far as it gets. But in reality it's still condenscension, since they do judge all right.

No, it causes me no tension.
The position of the Church is that any sexual activity that is not between husband and wife, is not moral. That includes hetero and homosexual sex just the same. Now the position on gay folks themselves is that they don't choose to have the attraction they do, and "They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided" ... Catechism 2358
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Your right. But just occasionally I can't help but thinking it would be nice to be the meat in a lesbo sandwich.

But if the Catholic church doesn't condone gay marriage, then it must hold that gays should never have sex?
