If you support her, you support breaking the law being OK if you cite religious reasons. Can I refuse to do parts of my job because of a religion I just made up and expect to still be paid?

As far as I know, she can go to jail, but not be removed from office without the proper procedures. She's an elected official. One of the more curious aspects of the American system in my opinion. To elect judges, prosecutors, sheriffs and even clerks. Turns them into politicians more than professionals, the way I see it. With all the consequences of looking at a vote rather than the job at hand.
Right, yeah... So does that mean she has a term and someone else can eventually be voted in?
I agree, sounds very political and weird. Feel free to send me a private message.

I've read somewhere that she can be impeached, but fat chance of that to happen. But she can go to jail for her refusal while still holding office.

While still holding office? What would that entail, she does her job from the jail? She still gets paid...?
I don't like this system. Everyone should be required to do their job or lose it, in my naive simplistic understanding of the world. Feel free to send me a private message.

That's only what I got from reading different stories about the incident. RE: Clerk Defies Supreme Court, Refuses Gay Marriage Licenses

Talking of religion and politics, my wife told me that Nigel Faraj (UKIP) said the first religiously motivated thing I've ever heard in UK politics. It's about all the refuges scrambling for asylum all over Europe, and the UK has apparently not been taking their fair share.
Faraj said (assuming my wife got this right) that we should only accept Christian refuges! What little respect I had for him has now plummeted. She also says he's anti gay marriage. What a motherfucker. Feel free to send me a private message.

He's a raving rightwinger like there are so many in Europe these days. Everything to get a vote. What Faraj says can be just as easily be said by any of the other figures in any given country. So called christian values are always what they advertise, because they hope to fish in that pond. They couldn't survive on Hooligans alone.

He did say that, in the context of Christian persecution occurring in the middle east (which is actually one example of Christian's claiming to be persecuted which is based on evidence).
