100 die after a, somewhat foreseeable accident, and all hell breaks lose among otherwise rational people.
On the one side, I hear: good riddance.
On the other: they're humans, too - have you no heart?

I find this bickering pointless.

Of course the authorities will investigate and find someone to blame for this. And the poor sod who'll be blamed will be the guy that left the crane where it was, knowing full well that a storm was coming and that was not a fixed crane, so it should have been retracted and lowered to the max... instead, as we see in the footage, it was almost vertical and ready to be used.
Of course, the guy that left it that way, probably did so, because his boss demanded that he not waste time properly parking the thing. But that boss never gets any blame...

I also discovered something new today: the construction company responsible for that is Saudi's largest construction company, and virtually the only doing any jobs for the government... also it was founded by Osama Bin Laden's father a few decades ago. How the world turns?...

Maybe the point of a thread in the " News & Current Affairs" forum is not for bigots to have field days...
Maybe it's to inform people...
And those boats full of people were in every news station - I don't remember any news reporter, or commentator, or interviewee saying anything remotely bigoted about those people who die at sea trying to get to Europe.
And yet, now, I've seen a reporter purposefully tripping an man carrying a ~6yo kid... I hear hate speech against these people...
And, when I try to put up a news piece about what's happening in Saudi Arabia, at a time I noticed few sites had that piece, you're thinking it was for the bigots?!

My "diversion" is an observation, accompanied by an opinion.

Muslims wanna kill me because I'm not a muslim. So the feelings are mutual - I want them dead because they're not atheists and I don't care what any of you thinks about that. Whenever you come to live here and live longer than a year in order to start to understand what's going on here, only then you can judge me for my murderous feelings towards the circumcised swines. And they're not just my feelings, my whole nation feels that way. Well, except for the venal traitors in the politics.
Looks like Merkel and the rest of the EU leaders are as blind as you are. And by the time you realize what's happening, it's gonna be too late.

"Their" viewpoint is this: they are in pain, lives and families are destroyed, friends are lost, dreams are shattered. Like shit you are evaluating anything from their viewpoint. You're taking the official doctrine of the religion the majority in the region adheres to, take it to 11, and hold it up to their faces to yell "Ner ner ner ner" in their hour of greatest hardship. To do what? Using this rare and precious opportunity to educate them about the fact that they are hypocrites, I suppose. Good job, take a cookie, you get an A for intellectual rigour.

I don't think such muslims exist. What you see on movies ain't what in real life is. And even if they do exist, they would do nothing to stop the hostile type of muslims from killing you. So far I have not seen a single muslim to say "I oppose killing christians (or atheists, for that matter) and I condemn that".
