I'm thinking that Hell is a lounge with cool drinks, hot broads, and the best deceased musicians, while Heaven is nicely regulated with numbered cloud layers and issued harps that you must account for every week or two.
I'd rather be in hell with Jimi Hendrix, Joe Pass, Bessie Smith, and many others, than spend eternity in Heaven, marching in lockstep.

If the Christian god turned out to be real, and the bible was an accurate depiction of him, then we're all fucked. Including the Christians.

To anyone who hasn't been indoctrinated, it's painfully obvious that it's a made-up, ridiculous childish concept used as a fear tactic in place of evidence and arguments.

I know that, as a child, I heard all sorts of explanations re: why gawd HAD to create Hell. Something about humans being so willful and power hungry and evil, and gawd being so just and pure and perfect that anyone who defies gawd simply had to be cast away and thrown into the fire. I think I remember being told, when I was a little older, that gawd WAS life and light and love, so being separated from gawd FEELS like eternal torture to an immortal soul, and that we choose that separation during our one lifetime. I believed it, of course. Now I can't even recall an explanation that isn't just batshit insane. None of them make any sense, other than what is certainly true: "EVIL EVIL men made up this sick story to keep the sheeple obeying them and giving them money".
