Do you ever get moved by a "based on a true story" movie that you go on the net to look up and read about the actual person/story!
I've done that a few times now ... eg: A beautiful mind, Hachi, etc

There is a bronze statue of Hachi at that very train station, IRL.
A friend of mine from France traveled to Japan and touched that statue, himself.
You mentioned A Beautiful Mind.
Were you aware that John Nash, and his wife,
were recently both killed in a car crash in New Jersey?

I came up 1cm short. I can twist my elbow back an obscene amount which freaks people out though. Often I don't even mean to do it.

It was WAAAAAAAY too expensive to do when I was there but I would absolutely suggest two other adventure-type things that were very cool to do on the South Island, that is, if you're interested in adventure-type things:

White water rafting in a freakin' freezing river - so much fun but sooooo cooooold... they make you wear wet suits. The rafting itself is fun and you get to stop and jump into the river off a really big rock toward the middle-end. This was my parents' christmas present to my sister and I.
The Canyon Swing

Gotta like bungee-jumping or have a least a little desire to jump off stuff - it was thrilling! I did two jumps, one solo and one tandem with my sister and I kept thinking we should have at least done one more each.

We happened to get there at feeding time so we got to do the lion encounter where they put you on the back on a truck (in a cage) and drive you into the lion enclosure to watch them as they get fed, we got to hand-feed the giraffes, and then got to see the cheetahs get fed. AMAZING!!

You wouldn't catch me on that canyon swing, though.
I'd probably try to grab a bird on my way down, or something.

That "Lord of the Rings" tour, in New Zealand, sounds rather interesting.
I really enjoyed LOTR even though I wouldn't call myself a hardcore fan, or anything.
My sister HATED the first LOTR movie, though.
She summarized it as,
" Three hours of a group of people walking around, looking worried. "

That's the only travelling I do these days, sadly...

Lol Actually, my arms are more on the long and gangly side, and I have probably a normal length tongue, if not a wide tongue. What I do have is wide shoulders, and at least some elasticity left in my tendons. I hear that's the combo for us lucky chosen few. The wide shoulders gives you more distance away from your mouth, so you have more room to swing your elbow over to it.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
