I think abortion is great, but that is just me.
I am in favor of anything that reduces the population; i.e., natural disasters and murderers.

It can be horrible for the woman. Early abortions these days consist of taking a pill and starting your period. Some women may feel emotional distress, but they don't have to. I just hate reading how abortion is this awful traumatizing thing for all women, because clearly anyone who could have an abortion without feeling guilty has mental problems

Looking back I didn't word it very well, my apologies. I was trying to say performing surgery and terminating a life are not ideal situations, no woman would choose to do them unless they really had to. They are bad experiences, but not as bad as being forced to have the baby.
Morality wise, I don't think it's bad at all.
I'm sorry Losty. Of course some people will cope better than others. I should have said it's not a nice experience, no one would choose to do it for no reason, right? I didn't get my point over very well.
I went overboard with the "no sane person" bit, and I didn't mean to imply anyone had mental problems. My apologies for cocking up my sentiments so badly.

I think what you mean is that you would not choose for a woman to have a late term abortion.
I agree, though there is one exception.

What I mean is that no woman would deliberately get pregnant just so she could have an abortion. Well, I hope so anyway.
That's all I meant. I'm not explaining myself at all well this morning and coming off like a nob.
This is what I meant by it being bad, for the woman. It's not something she would choose to go through, even if she copes with it really well.

I agree.
Unless she was a complete psycho only getting pregnant to keep the man, and then realizing that he still did not want her so she went with aborting in the final hope of really hurting him.
Silly women. What is wrong with your gender?
I kid, I kid.

This is what I meant by "no sane person" in my original foot-in-mouth wording. I would say someone was insane if they got pregnant in order to have an abortion and for no other reason; or if they thought doing that was a positive way to behave.
An abortion is a bad option as in its worse than doing nothing. You wouldn't choose to do it, you would rather not do it at all. (You'd rather the fetus could just disappear.) That's what I meant by bad. Not morally wrong.
Please forgive my terrible phrasing today, and I hope everyone now understands what I mean. I have got the impression from some pro life people that they think pro choice people "support" abortion as in they want to actually encourage more of them to happen for no reason.

You haven't offended me. I'm only using your post as an opportunity to make a point because so many people (even pro choice) seem to think having an abortion is some horrible choice a woman has to make, and all women feel guilty about it. And it's not the case. I don't mean that you think it is, just that a lot of people say these types of things without thinking about it.
I imagine that if I were to become prefab pregnant (wtf is prefab??) and have an abortion because I don't want to have another child, I would just do it without agonizing over it. I wouldn't feel guilty because I would know it's the right choice for me and my family. Then maybe I would stumble into a thread such as this one where someone unintentionally made a post like yours and I would doubt myself. Am I bad person? Should I feel guilty for having an abortion? Even though it was my right, was it a bad thing that I did?
So I just try, when the opportunity presents itself, to make that point. Abortion isn't a bad thing. It's not always traumatizing. And it's perfectly fine for women to do it without feeling guilty.

Sure, I agree my original post was worded very badly. I didn't mean what you thought I meant ![Smile Smile](https://atheistforums.org/images/smilies/smile.gif) I've added an edit to that effect for people to read on.
I don't think abortion is morally wrong at all. I'm not saying people can't cope with it. I'm saying it's not something people do for fun. People don't grow half an organism and then kill it for the kicks.
