Bozo, you want to disagree with me, that's all well and good. But do not attack me via my nationality. We have banned people before for prejudice, keep it up and see what happens.

Seriously, it's a fucking logo. Get over it.

Whole swathes of its population think France is in Hamburger.

Ah. . . generalizations, most likely based on youtube videos of select members of a country's population answering questions incorrectly, are always fun.

I would just like to point out that a country is not capable of introspection, nor is an entire country's population. A country's population is made up of individuals.

I would hope that the United States has few narrow-minded individuals like yourself, but my hope would be dashed easily, I fear.

Eilonnwy, we do disagree, that is patently obvious.
You inferred I was a " little englander " in a previous post, which to an international socialist is an " attack"...so get over my reference to your nationality.
And your threat means zilch to me.....some tolerance!
As for the logo, as I said previously, I really don't care. If the majority want to stick with a statement that is inaccurate, so be it.

Shell, rightly or not the USA has a reputation around the globe for introspection. Such a global view is in no way diminished when its politicians show an ignoranc of world geography and other countries' politics. ( I'm thinking here of recent stuf concerning Dubya and Paillin ).
I'm sure you have narrow-minded people over there, hey we do over here.....but I'm not one.

Bozo, your country is little in terms of actual size, that's factual and all I meant. You were making a point about your country and ignoring the international community in your argument. I did not trash your country by making sweeping generalizations about it's people. There's the difference.

Your comment shows you have no clue what our country is like. George Bush is no longer president, and Sarah Palin is a political commentator and nothing more. You can't judge an entire country based on a few people. A lot, if not most, of the people in our country think they're fucking idiots. And they are not the only ones who represent our country. Obama has made strides to change relations with the international community. He matters more than those two do in terms of representing America.

You speak of ignorance, but really you should look in the mirror. I don't judge England based on a few whackos and you shouldn't either with America. You clearly have no idea what America is like and are guilty the very thing you're accusing America of.

Eilonnwy, I will accept that you were actually talking size about the uk.
I will not accept I was ignoring the rest of the world. I said I did not know the situation in the rest of the world. For the purposes of my argument nor do I need to know. The fact that England and Wales do not recognise blasphemy as a crime is sufficient.

I say your country has a poor reputation worldwide, due in no small measure to its introspection. You can tell me I'm wrong, but I'm only 1 person! You've got millions more to say that to.

And if you were arguing for the use of the slogan within your country, you may have a point. However, this is an international forum, so it is relevant.

I know the US has suffered reputation-wise thanks to Bush. However, the American people elected Barack Obama, and he has been very welcoming and respectful to the international community. A lot of people had that in mind when we elected him.

I disagree that the US is introspective, there are some people who are, but not all. For every Bush there's an Obama, for every Palin there's a Maddow. However, in the end, if you can recognize that you made a sweeping generalization about the people as a whole, I have no more to say on the matter and we can respectfully disagree.
