I have called for close over-sight of police in this thread. I don't see the situation as the epidemic that Rev. Minny is promoting. His threads are consistently about hating someone.

A federal judge in Florida has granted bail to a self-professed neo-Nazi who was taken into custody last month by police who discovered bomb-making materials, weapons and ammo in the his Tampa apartment, reports Fox 13.

Federal Judge Thomas McCoun granted bond for 21-year-old Brandon Russell on Friday, stating there was no clear and convincing evidence “the defendant represents a threat to any person or community.”

Anyone want to place bets on the outcome of the bail hearing if the defendant had not been white?

Now here is an all too rare example of a "good cop."  No, not the pig with the anger-management issues who was beating the shit out of a handcuffed suspect.  The cop who put a stop to it and had the bad cop arrested.  I imagine his career is over.... meaning the guy who stopped it.

Florida cop arrested after punching handcuffed 17-year-old boy, claims teen spit on him

The sergeant rushed over and separated the trio, only to find James beating on the 17-year-old in the back of a cruiser moments later. He ordered the officer to stand down. The officer, a three-year veteran of the force, was soon arrested on a battery charge.

James claims the teen spit at him, prompting the violent outburst. Regardless of triggered the attack, Ivey said it was an "inappropriate response."

Glad to see the other guy stopping the bad cop, instead of joining in. But yeah, we can hazard a guess that this guy isn't getting a medal for protecting the teen.

Police found a dead, partially dressed 16-year-old girl in an industrial area of East New York early on New Year's Day in 1992. She was stabbed, strangled and beaten. Although a rape kit was destroyed within weeks, DNA analysis of hairs on the girl's body in 2009 excluded Wagstaffe and Connor.

Police arrested Wagstaffe and Connor on the word of a now-dead woman who was drunk and high when she said she saw the girl getting forced into a car.

One does wonder how many people are rotting in jail because cops fudge the evidence to keep up their "conviction rate."

Baltimore to flood streets with police after rash of killings

Baltimore police will put more officers on the street to battle a surge in killings that included six homicides in seven hours this week, part of a wave of deadly violence not seen in the port city in years, authorities said on Tuesday.

Patrol officers and detectives will go on 12-hour shifts through the weekend, instead of the normal 10-hour stints, and all other officers will be placed in squad cars or on foot patrols, Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said.

Because any criminal is going to wait until a cop is present before killing someone.  I imagine this will do a lot for police overtime and a put a big hole in the city budget.  The problem is not putting more cops on the street the problem is getting guns off the street.
