We used to spend hours on this lake when my older two babies were little ones. That was my happy place. I suppose I ought to find a new one now that this one is so far away.

Yours is damn cool though! I love books, the smell, the feel, sinking into another world. Love it!

My library is about the same size.
It's sought of a shelter for loved books.
I go to the local hospice charity sales.
Basically people die and they sell their stuff.
You don't have much space in a hospice.
You only keep the important books.
So I feel good about rescuing books that meant something to somebody.

I'm also worried that sometime in the future there will suddenly be not many books left.
Lack of interest and trees. :-)

I have read a study (but cannot remember where) linking real books to better recall and retention than their electronic counterparts. But I don't disagree, paper books may soon fall out of favor.

In my opinion the feeling of being surrounded by actual books is not reproducible by any electronic means. Tongue

Agreed. The book is pretty much a perfect technology, IMO.

It doesn't really need much improving-upon.
