Welcome, nice to meet you Smile

I'm sorry you have to put up with such ridiculous oppression in your country. Are you planning to move when you are able?

I'm 38, a lifelong atheist in England.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Yeah I'm planning to move out to England when I'm 18 or 19, I'm hoping to complete my education there, hopefully by that time I hope that I'll have enough money to do so.

Fantastic! Good choice Smile Religion is an irrelevancy here, at least everywhere I've lived. I hope it all works out!

Good. What do you know... a smart one!

We would all be quite horrified to learn that we had contributed to any harm coming to you.

Ironically, having given up your faith might help your case, if you can tell the person who (in person) interviews you that you have given it up, since England is starting to fear the backlash from its Muslim immigrant population against its secularist ideals, and there is (unfortunately) an instinctive prejudice that often manifests, which people do not always catch through self-examination. Realizing that you are fleeing your native culture for fear of imprisonment might also quality you for some type of refugee legal status, though I am not certain what the UK's laws about that are, specifically.

Again, we're glad to see you. Many of us woke up from our religious views as teenagers, despite being surrounded by fanatics (luckily, American fanatics have lost their ability to punish infidels, for the most part), when we just couldn't swallow the anti-scientific lies that the True Believers™ tell. We find it funny that the Christians can see clearly that people in Muslim countries are indoctrinated as children into accepting Islam as The Truth™, but don't realize the same thing happens here, and everywhere.

I can't wait to hear more about your experiences. Just be careful not to provide any details that could be read online and traced back to you.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
