I desperately needed to vent about religion, and have an escape. There was some sort of vicarious release that I had when I heard people freely talking about religion, because of the suffocating situation that I was in. He’s easily the biggest asshole of a theist that I’ve ever met.

I was heavily indoctrinated by one of the biggest assholes you could possibly imagine. It was his way or the highway. He never could do wrong, praying was more important than spending quality time with his family. The time he did spend was always ranting and raving about religion or politics. He always tried to start fights with everyone or pick on them for any little thing he could find, everyday. When I was growing up, every time I wanted to go out and play or do something, he always made sure I prayed a certain amount of time first, or prayed the rosary or whatever. I almost couldn’t even wake up and eat breakfast in the morning without him asking (demanding) me if I prayed. He’s one of the most negative, narcissistic, controlling people you’d ever meet. No matter what you do, it’s wrong. You’d try your whole life to please the man, but nothing would make him happy. No matter who you’d see or what you’re plans are, they’re always wrong. He’s the type that thinks the world is ending right around the corner, and that only catholics will be saved. He judges gay people like crazy, and thinks they’re making a choice to rebel against god. He thinks every muslim is evil, he loves FOX and thinks everything they say is truth (shocker). He thinks every democrat is a liar, and every republican is perfect. I could go on forever. Almost any negative trait you could possibly think of, would be attached to his character.

He is pretty much out of his fucking mind, but at the same time when he meets people outside of his house or outside of his family, he can be a nice person with a sense of humor. Just another reason, that he pisses me off so much. That he’s capable of being a good person, but chooses to be an absolute prick 99% of the time.

I’m glad I got away recently. I don’t need that shit in my life anymore.
LOL that describes me well. Just wait till we meet in real life Wink

Oh yeah, those are just the first few to pop into my head.
He broke your windshield? You should have sued him.

I didn't have his name or his license number.  I just put my foot on the gas - I figured that the next swing of the bat might connect with my head.  I'm not going to volunteer to be an atheist martyr just to get one loony street preacher put in jail.

In my experience they can be quite polite and nice in general and just be completely unaware of how bigoted they sound when they speak of gay people or immigrants. They think they're "normal" for being bigoted like this. Just because they may - depressingly - be in the majority, does not make it "normal".

It makes sense once you understand that the drive to conformity is one reason many believers never stop to question their faith. To do so would take them out of lockstep with their peers, and that is anathema.

So sorry for ruining my rep in front of you guys. But all the same, I do pray that you guys go into heaven and live a good life though and blah blah blah

Wow. All of that in one package. Sounds like you got all the bases covered, at least the main ones. And doubled down on the anti communist, they must be a real threat.

Who drops you off in town?

Are us heathens going to become your special project? (oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please, .......)
Not really. I just want to see the world through your eyes and how you view us for a change from the old "go out and convert ye Heathen nations, and then judge the crap of them" routine of mine [emoji122] [emoji41] [emoji48]

My uncle, another wannabe Westboro, drops me off since I can't really walk or drive.

I mean, what sort of omnipotent being needs a fucking sales man? And is that your highest aim, to be a shill for an absentee?

No dude, I love to live this way. I find meaning in serving my Lord this way. About your omnipotent question, yeah God is Omnipotent, its just that I am his instrument for some of that potence at work.

EvF, sadly you are right.  I find far too many Christians who are also judgmental about homosexual lifestyles and discriminate against races or even other religions.  It's so ironic.  Preaching tolerance, while being intolerant.  Demanding equal rights for your group, while denying them from other groups.  At the end of the day they look at the world from their own personal perspective instead of looking at it objectively.  I had a friend years ago who was very homophobic and anti-gay rights and all the while we found out he was cheating on his wife.

I personally call out the hypocrites.  It was one of the main reasons I stopped going to church for the longest time was because of the fake, two-sided people.  Preach one thing, do another.  Also, going in to church pretending that everything is great and refusing to open up about issues.  We ALL have issues.  But people that care about you genuinely want to help.  Don't pretend it's all ok.  Don't be afraid to reach out.  Don't be fake.  That's why I always loved Gandhi's quote, "I like your Christ, I don't like your Christians."  A large part of Christians are afraid to just be people.

I personally accept all and will fight for what's fair and equal for ALL no matter what orientation, race, class, etc.  I have gay friends, i have hindu and Muslim friends, I have atheist friends.  I view everyone as a person first, not how they identify and label themselves.  The only label we cannot get rid of is our person-hood and that above all other things is the most valuable.  People should all be treated the same.  I cannot stand condescension.  It's simple people.  Even Barack Obama gets diarrhea.  No one is better than anyone else.  Period.

There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.

I was always the kind of guy who was the "No naughty sex, no naughty clothes, no work on sunday etc..." you name it. Even when I converted into this whole New Age stuff that flew around.

And you know what? I was the BIGGEST hypocrite of all time. I was in homosex myself, I was even a pedophile with a young boy I fell in love with. I was nasty, I was disrespectful, disobedient, hateful, racist and all sorts of stuff. If there's anybody who deserves hell, its me.

But two years ago something happened in my life, and I turned 180 degrees from the evil man that I was and found out what it really meant to be saved and I got saved. It's only cause by the grace of God, The very Lord Jesus Christ, a crapwad like me can ever be of any good. And ever since, I KNOW 100% unchangeable, down deep in the bottom of my heart that Jesus is real and that he loved me enough to save me from the wicked man I've been.

The real reason is that the Bible tells me too, so I do it.

But as far as I understand the Bible, everyone is part of God's omnipotent plan. For example, the Army is part of God's potency for the defense of the county, and even your helping the poor is part of God's omnipotent plan in helping the poor. Do you get what I'm trying to say?
