That's a big part of it. Whenever I've asked Christians why they believe a book somebody wrote and said came from god over and above their brains they clam god made without anybody having to tell them, they say their brains cannot be trusted. Ask them how then they can trust the brains of the men who wrote the bible and they dismiss the question as irrelevant.

The point is that people are confusing prayer with incantation. Christ taught us to end our prayers with 'thy will be do'.. God will do what he does but it is our choice whether or not o conform ourselves to His will.

Based on this list, I don't think god will like if we pray to lower our blood pressure. God knows we have high blood pressure and if he wants it that way then that the way it should be.

Besides he gave us doctors and blood pressure medicine so we won't need to interrupt him with petty shit while he's doing important stuff like helping some pitcher get a save or that quarterback make that game winning throw!

We should not presume to judge his priorities, for he works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. His thoughts are above our thoughts and his ways above our ways, so we should humble ourselves to his will and not show out arrogance in thinking children dying of cancer is more important than somebody finding their car keys.
