I'm skeptical as well. The leap from "bizarre structures" to "alien civilization" seems foundless.

I saw this earlier in the day. It's such an unusual situation. The strongest theory so far to explain the data is that another star passed very close to the system and disrupted a shit-load of comets which are causing the data. I wonder about an unknown stellar phenomena related to sunspots causing the unusual light dip. I mean a 15% and 22% drop? It would take two dozen Jupiters to do that or thousands of comets if a natural phenomena or something like a Dyson Sphere if it's artificial. Whatever it is, it's VERY unusual.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Do you suppose that is where planet Kolob is?
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

That's no moon, obv.
Meh.
Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
It could simply be a rogue asteroid field between us and KIC 8462852. Depending on the location, small objects can obscure large. Our moon covers the sun.

Of course when the situation is so bizzare even the scientists entertain the alien explanation, not much is going to be ruled out.

Albert Einstein Quote:...looked like something you would expect an alien civilisation to build. How could you know that? how could you recognize a civilization when you can't even spell it!?!
The situation is bizarre, but I'd be more inclined to consider the possibilities in this order: instrument/measurement fault of some sort; a planetary collision or rogue asteroid field or some other naturally occurring debris from some epic-scale disaster; and finally an unknown mega-structure of some sort.
