Of course it is. I was getting muddled up with tower bridge. My apologies. I always wondered why anyone would do that. In fact I think most people wonder. This quote from that wiki page may explain it though. Quote:After it was reconstructed, new prospective land buyers were interested in coming to see the London Bridge and take a tour of properties for sale. Land sales improved and McCulloch recouped all of his expenses for the purchase and shipping of the bridge. Since the cost of the land was nothing, the sale of the properties paid for the bridge and more. Recent years have seen a large amount of development in the area of the bridge to increase tourist interest. There still is a London Bridge in London, UK. It's between Cannon Street Railway Bridge and Tower Bridge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge

This is the london bridge
There is a misconception with the Tower Bridge Most people here in the US mix up the two calling this Tower Bridge the London bridge

No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
There is a tale, maybe apocryphal, that the Arizona buyers of London Bridge were disappointed when it was reassembled since they thought they had bought Tower Bridge.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
It's a couple of hours away in Lake Havasu City.
Can't be bothered to go see it. |
