Back to the original post, I'd like to know his position on various issues; does he have a manifesto at all? I don't know if he has anything like that, but he answers youtube comments. He also has a blog at http://www.cultofdusty.com/ I was going to say 'older blog', but I just checked and there are 3 articles I haven't read yet added during April. On the blog, there are comment areas, so questions about things could be asked there too.
I'm not sure (but I think it's likely) that there will be future blog posts about the presidency and other political issues (meaning not just the religious ones).
I'm really shitty at giving kudos and rep. That's because I would be inconsistent in remembering to do them, and also I don't really want it to show if any favouritism is happening. Even worse would be inconsistencies causing false favouritisms to show. So, fuck it. Just assume that I've given you some good rep and a number of kudos, and everyone should be happy...

How does one go about to even attempting to run for something as small as state house? If you mention rational thinking are you doomed from the start, or are people starting to wake up?
To the people also in Alaska, do you think an atheist politician would be able to make it in AK... I don't. Or someone who openly admits to smoking marijuana?

How about one who is an atheist, pot smoking musician? He's done 7 pieces, all of which I really like, (strangely, I usually hate most music). They can heard/downloaded at http://www.cultofdusty.com/?p=61. I used two of them in one of my first youtubes, a practice video for testing special effects...

Here's a song of his called Talking Points, that he originally wrote for the Kerry campaign, over 4 years ago, so I guess it was around when he was just leaving christianity.

I'm really crappy at making out lyrics, but from what I can catch in this one, it sounds like his other politics are pretty rational too.
So, I'm a fan until proven otherwise, at which point I'll then grumble for a couple days about those fucking politicians, they're all alike, blah blah...

But has this man reached a position of political persuasion?

Probably not in time for the next election, but maybe in some future one if his politics and plans become well liked by enough people. Who knows, maybe the whole campaign will at least get the public out there thinking about atheists holding office and the religious/political issues in general. There is still one state, can't remember which, that has a law forbidding atheists from office. That's appalling in this day and age in a free country.

Oh Pippy. You are criticizing yourself in your post, because what you are describing is exactly what you are doing.
'And calling other people beliefs fairy tales will not win votes. I hate atheists that pretend like believers believe bullshit, but atheists know science. You don't know any more than I do. I hate that attitude.'
And then you turn around and say:
'Silly non-believers (or is it believers on non?). Something had to have made all of this, and it loves you very, very much.'
You use ridicule and express disapproval of opposing ideas as much as we do. The difference between us is we are not hypocritical about it. We welcome debate and we recognize and promote truth.
(Yes, you are wrong and your beliefs are silly fairy tales. I do have science backing up my perception and knowledge of reality and I do my best to ensure that it influences my policy which I try to form using logic and rationality along with the set of ethics I naturally acquired through biological and social evolution.)
'Having a president only because he is openly atheist is like having one only because he's black. It misses the point.'
Would you vote for an atheist candidate? (Which according to you is any President?)

Oh? Please go on.
Quote:'And calling other people beliefs fairy tales will not win votes. I hate atheists that pretend like believers believe bullshit, but atheists know science. You don't know any more than I do. I hate that attitude.'
I meant every word. It is rude to call others beliefs fairy tales. It is a double standard to think that other have beliefs and you have knowledge.
Quote:'Silly non-believers (or is it believers on non?). Something had to have made all of this, and it loves you very, very much.'
I also said that. Please allow me to quantify, that is only my opinion, and I could very well be wrong. I'm sorry if you don't think anything loves you very, very much. It is only my belief, I don't know it for sure.
Quote:You use ridicule and express disapproval of opposing ideas as much as we do. The difference between us is we are not hypocritical about it. We welcome debate and we recognize and promote truth.
Oh? The difference is you are not hypocritical? You welcome debate? And recognized and promote truth? So when I make a statement about my belief, I am being hypocritical. When you , as an Atheist, make a statement about you belief (which is just as valid as mine) you "recognize and promote truth"? So again, my beliefs are delusions, and yours are 100% true. Your beliefs aren't even beliefs, they are facts. And mine are fairy tales. Keep walking, you sound like an asshole.
Quote:Would you vote for an atheist candidate? (Which according to you is any President?)
I didn't say every pres was atheist, I said every pres was fake. So the Christian pres's are fake Christians, and this so called Athiest candidate is likely a fake Atheist. Clearer this time? The answer is no, I have never, and will never vote until it is something more than a big dog and pony show propping up the illusion of choice.
Thank you for sharing, I appreciate that you feel like I'm being the idiot here, but I would not be so sure if I were you. I hold beliefs, you know facts. Think about that.
Thanks,
-Pip

You misunderstand the intent of my post.
All sides in any issue believe their side is the right side. That is inherently the nature of having knowledge and beliefs. The difference is I don't contest another side's right to claim to be right. (Which is different from contesting the merits of the positions, opinions, beliefs, and the accuracy of facts in question.)
It is no double standard to claim certain ideas true and others false.
'It is a double standard to think that other have beliefs and you have knowledge.'
You criticize yourself with that sentence.
I believe differently, but you have proclaimed yourself right and me wrong. Isn't that something you said you shouldn't do?
That is your hypocrisy.
