If you could remove your need for sleep, would you?
November 10, 2015 at 4:04 pm
Imagine that you could take a pill (cheap & safe) which would remove any need for you to sleep for a month. It would fulfill all the physical and mental functions that sleep performs; so it isn't keeping you conscious forcibly, just fulfilling the needs which sleep usually does.
Would you take the pill?
Why?
What effect do you think it would have on our society if such a pill was invented?
This is about what sleep means to us beyond it's biological purpose.

Yeeeeeeessssss. I feel like my whole day is inconvenienced by that 8-9 hour chunk that I am forced to remove from it and make time for. Fuck sleep.

I hardly sleep anyways so if I could have that without the pesky exhaustion that'd be nice!

I'd take it only on condition that my wife was unaware of the pill and continued to get her sleep, so I could have a little quiet time. Otherwise, what's the point? I'd just end up watching even more of those fucking reality shows she's so fond of.

Nope. In my dreams I still have romantic experiences. Why would I want to remove that?

If she watches American Dad, she might catch on.
