Cinema ad banned; church sues

RE: Cinema ad banned; church sues
Has the Church of England (snicker, snort, tee hee) bothered to screen their epic in any of their still open franchise outlets ???

I do concede I've rarely (if ever) slammed the CoE here as it just seems so ludicrous to suppose anyone could even remotely entertain the idea that they were The One True Faith it would be a waste of my time in pointing it out.

And don't get me started on the fucking Anglicans . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Wonder what that says regarding churches that insist on KJV...
Still expecting them to try dropping running costs of cathedrals on tax payers...

Oh fuck it. Just charge the C of E super bowl ad prices. Extraordinary ad requires extraordinary prices. Problem solved.

Less than 5% attend CofE services on a weekly basis. Guess they thought they could advertise to get some new recruits...before the new Star Wars film.

They should have included some vague references to the force in there, then at least they could have duped some of the sillier fanboys into attending an Alpha course of whatever.

The ad is totally redundant anyway. As if, after the prequels, every Star Wars fan isn't going to be sitting in their seat, beseeching any higher power around to please make the movie good. Angel

Quote:"This advert is about as offensive as a carol service or church service on Christmas Day," he said.

And as with religion, their prayers will probably not be answered
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

What is it with religious shitballs that they think we are just dying to hear what they have to say?

You'd think by now, in Britain at least, they'd be catching on that we don't give a rat's ass about them or their fucking god.

I'm surprised to see the Daily Mail reporting people being outraged by this "ban", which is not a ban as Quantum has pointed out. It says even David Cameron has got involved and seems to be backing the church. It's a bit of a dumb newspaper so I wouldn't take this all as fact yet.

This is full on retarded, if true. They expect cinemas to have to show anything anyone brings to them without discretion? Fuck off. They are not propaganda platforms. I though people would have more sense. Every fucking town in England has at least one Christian church, usually several. No one needs telling what Christianity is.

I wonder if the church were prepared to pay the going rate for such an advert? I doubt it.

This is a small issue, but worth fighting I think. It's stuff like this that acts as precedent and allows (more) elements of theocracy to creep back in.

I am on the side with the cinema's they don't have to show anything in regards to religion or  politics people pay money to
go to a movie and enjoy it  not to have religious pandering shoved in their faces. The church can go fuck off religion specifically
speaking christianity dying in the US and the EU.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.
