Theists debating Atheists

I can't figure out why a hardcore apologetic theist would want to keep trolling a bunch of Atheists. What is the pleasure in it for them? They sound retarded so the joke is on them.
I have trolled Christian sites before. It's easy and funny to trip them up. It's not easy to be the Theist trolling an Atheist site. Do they just like the abuse? Do they think they will change minds?
Oh yeah, this thread is not directed at any individual but rather is a general question.

In all honesty it's a waste of time on their end to debate solid fact because in the end
faith looses to fact. Evidence matters faith doesn't.

You know that feeling you get when you checkmate someone in a debate? Then when they try to weasel out of it you're like "Really? Come on. Didn't we do this already?"
Well, thats the feeling they get when they say something really fucking stupid about transitional forms or quote a Bible passage. They perceive that as a checkmate then they perceive whatever detailed explanation you give as weaseling out. People want to be right more than they want what they're saying to be true. More than that their world view, their perception of the world around them is all geared up to convince them with utter certainty they are infact the ones in the right. Because which cave man fucks the most cave women? Thats right, the one whos able to convince the most people hes right most of the time because thats the guy who becomes leader but the first person he has to utterly convince is himself. That caveman whos comfortable conceding he was wrong that one time? Ruined. Noone wants anything to do with him, that Barney Rubble motherfucker is going to get us eaten by a sabertooth or something. The tribe gives zero fucks about the fact he was honest. That guy is marked as a liability, a jynx. If you want proof of concept just look at politics.
In short; one or both of you is not perceiving things how they really are and you will never convince the other that its them. Oh, unless they convince themselves. Because that way they're still in the right because they got there in the end. It can't be because someone proved them wrong. That shits just devastating to the ego. People will rarely accept an opposing conclusion unless they're somehow convinced they reached it.

For the same reason people troll, it can be fun and sadistically pleasurable for some people. Most trolls probably feel superior and think atheist arguments are stupid.

My guesses:
1) They really think they're "winning" debates with us.
2) Insecurity: a need for the validation of their beliefs.
3) They feel they have tried to "save us", so they've done their part.
4) Earning brownie points with the big mental beardy cloud guy.
5) Enjoyment from a misguided sense of superiority.
6) To convince themselves they have tested their beliefs.
