saw Book of Eli recently
action was good
but i got a feeling it was pushing religion in the movie.

Pretty much the main character protected the last bible after this war went on and the war started cause of
religion i believe.

but then again the bad guy in the movie says that the last bible "isn't just a book its a weapon" i liked that.
But wouldn't that make me a bad guy for thinking the same thing?

I saw the movie and like it OK. For me it was a bit like some similar movies, the action was pretty good and not overdone off the special effects. It was quite reminiscent of mad max.Actually it's a parody of the Christian belief that the word of God should be a weapon, so you're not alone in that idea. I prefer to see it as belladonna or angel's trumpet. It can be used as a weapon, but it has a purpose and function without weaponizing it.

True, there were un-answered questions like... scientifically and stuff - The sun finds a gap in the ozone, scorches the Earth and one year later, it's safe to walk the surface??

The movie was more about a message and if they tried to give it more story then they did, they'd ruin the fluency of that message; a message best kept simple.

Btw, I'm in no way implying that it was a good and moral message... hell no. "Live by faith and not by sight" is a terrible thing to do. And i'm not ignoring the powerful moral quotes throughout the movie.. but they came from man, not an ancient book or divine intervention.

I guess that's my review of it.

Eli took the book to a repository of human knowledge, purposely keeping it from the hands of illiterate people. It was shelved next to a copy of the Quran and other religious works if I am not mistaken. The message was clear that God somehow guided and protected him, but I did not see the movie claiming that the bible is the inerrant word of God. More that it was one of many books speaking the truth about God
