The Bible is infallible.
...and full of fucking allegory and metaphors. Strangely It's never clear which is which until science proves it wrong.
People put too much fucking faith into a stupid fucking book that says women shouldn't speak in church and are basically lesser beings.
"I know it's true because personal revelation!" And my youngest son was convinced he was getting a Hogwarts letter after he read the first Harry Potter book. If God really wanted you to know his fucking rules, don't you think he'd come here and fucking tell you himself instead of relying on a text that makes no fucking sense? These are the same people convinced that the Devil buried Dinosaur bones to trick us, yet can't fathom that the Devil may have written the bible to trick us. Or that the Bible is a test by god to see who'll truly act moral, and who'll just do what he says rather than decide for themselves.

Humans are growing out of it, but we hate change, so it's not going to be fast.

The religions of Asia and the Orient are not violence free either. There has never been, anywhere in the world where any religion has ever brought widespread peace. We do see an uneasy truce between Tibet and China and Japan and other Asian countries. But the truth of the human invented construct in the word "religion" is very problematic. It sets up "us vs them" and creates competing groups. It is an artificial reflection of our species evolutionary grouping. The more humans accept this, while it will never completely go away, but the more it is accepted, the better management and the less violence there will be. But we do need to reduce the distraction all religions are causing because they take away our species attention away from pollution, climate change and famine.
