Meanwhile, I'm spending a lot of time on the road, going to lawyers' offices, banks, and business meetings with people whose contracts I've had to delay... basically, keeping myself from having more repercussions from what they did.
I'm hoping to be more active again when this is over and I'm settled in my new location. I used to post when I had batches running on the CNC machine or when my CAD program was running stress calculations, etc. Now I'm stuck living on a shoestring budget and trying to finagle the things I need done without using money.

As an update to anyone worrying, we've gotten our first (terrible) offer for settlement on this case; I could have all my funds back today, they claim, if I agree to let them off from all liability. Fat chance! All I have to do is wait three weeks and I'll have their nuts in a vice.

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

A rare thing? I don't know about that. I don't think having a sense of humor has anything to do with whether or not you believe in God. The vast majority of people I know and interact with are theists, and plenty of them are funny.
