But that's specific things, if I attempt to predict that any things will happen, my attempt is guaranteed to succeed, because things happen all the time... just not necessarily anything specific that I might conceptualize in my mind.

Yes, yes, I know this is a necropost, but it's important, so deal with it.

1. ISIS will suffer a series of major battlefield setbacks.

2. Assad will remain in power by promising modest reforms and actually delivering on some of them.

3. A comprehensive series of measures including (but not limited to) hybridization, new classes of pesticides and genetic 'tweaking' will arrest/reverse Colony Collapse Disorder, and the world honeybee population will begin to recover.

4. Concomitant with #3, we will see the start of a new Agricultural Revolution, in which GM crops will play a significant role in ameliorating word hunger.

5. A new species of primate will be discovered in the Indonesian archipelago.

6. Mick Jagger will die (and people will be stunned that it wasn't Keith Richards).

7. Organ transplants will become 100% effective - tissue rejection will cease to be an issue.

8. Sylvester Stallone will be nominated for an Academy Award for 'Creed' (he won't win).

9. An archeological find in Italy will add immensely to our knowledge of Etruscan culture.

10. Volkswagen will recover from the diesel-fixing scandal and will pass Toyota as the world's largest producer of motor vehicles.

I claim full marks for #s 1, 5, 8, 9 and 10. I claim half marks for #2. This gives me a score of 55% so far.
