The universe is not spiritual that is a load a religious bullshit no one has proof of any of it.
No one has proof of jesus existing neither god or the supernatural.

If you believe that the xtian gospels had any truth in them, and that Jesus existed, then he CLAIMED to be their connection to god.  The problem is that there are a LOT of Americans that believe the Bible is the "inerrant word of god".  They believe that every word is literally true.  When faced with contradictions within the book itself, they just claim that the questioner does not have enough faith.  (And will be punished for doubting.)  Most non-fundamentalist xtians still claim to revere every word that Jesus supposedly spoke - even if they have to ignore some parts.

I should apologize to kmthang . . . I questioned Deirdre's interpretation and ended up hijacking his thread!  Sorry KM - I hope things work out for you!

In every age, for every people there is a Guide. Somewhere on earth, is a movement centered around that guide in each age, but always, everyone on earth, has access to the guide by the a vessel called the heart. You don't need to know which book is revealed by God or know his name (The Guide I mean) to connect to him. All you got to do is believe in God and turn to God sincerely wanting to be guided and not following your desires, committed to the truth and God's pleasure, and he will guide to the one who will show you the way and be your companion in the journey. It is then you will be taught the true religion the true way the true way to worship God and connect to Him and be revealed good acts to imitate inwardly in spirit.

You know, Mystic - - I think that if we met in RL we would get along just fine.  You seem to be a good guy.  But I do need to remind you that I don't believe god exists.  Any god.  I was raised religious.  Now I am not religious.  Your effort, while probably well-intentioned, is wasted on me.

My point was to say, the whole idea you need an official book/religion to get guided is not sensible at all. If one believes in God and the unseen path to him, one has to believe if there is a greater path to him and inward guidance is needed, then the fact for example if I was born in a region and time with no access to the Quran and Quran happened to be true, and the Guide it appoints is the true one, then for me not to get guided by God and his Guide to others on earth, simply because I was born somewhere else doesn't make logical sense.

This is why the Quran never said for every people there is a Messenger or one that warns (natheer) or a Prophet, but did say for every people there is a Guide.

I know I came off as preaching but my point was that people didn't have to believe in Bible claim about Jesus to get guided by Jesus.

His teachings were more to say, you will live a far better life if you do follow Me. Again, it's about a relationship, as I see it. This doesn't mean someone who doesn't follow Jesus won't live a good life, or that God won't love him/her. It only means that Jesus' teachings were to help us not hinder us. God wants a relationship with us, but He won't force that on us. I believe God still loved me when I stopped believing in Him. (I've come to that conclusion, upon returning to faith) This in a nutshell, is the essence of my new found faith.

You may want to read your favorite ethnocentric Middle Eastern religious fairy tale so that you will know what it really says before commenting on it.

John 15:6 (NKJV) = "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

That's pure blackmail.

Same verse I quoted to her.   I'm sure there are others, but didn't have time to look 'em up.

You thought correctly. We are very much supposed to do that. But as human beings we are not perfect and unfortunately we all have a tendency to fall short at times.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Drich, you may believe a bit differently from myself regarding God's love, and I respect your beliefs. I do object however with your tone and the way you responded to the OP. I don't think that is how Jesus would have responded to a person in pain.
