Tell me again how buddhism helps you to be a better person because I sure as shit don't see it.
Then how would you explain that a girl out of 7 billion will get raped? Coincidence , chance ? I'm sorry i just can't buy that. Yes the rapist will accumulate more bad karma.
"A girl is raped because of her past karma" . I'm not for a moment saying she deserves it. I would be a heartless person to say that. In fact just like everyone else i feel compassion. I used karma to explain why it happened. Not to say she deserves it.
Bullshit you little lying prick. When you say that a girl was raped because of karma you are explicitly saying it was her fault, just like if you said it was because she wore a sort skirt/tight jeans/was a lesbian. Just because you are putting blame into a previous life, doesn't change the fact that you are blaming the victim for the wrong done to her.
By espousing such immoral and evil views, you expose yourself as nothing more than a shit stain on the arse of humanity.

Lets take the rape example from the beginning (beginning of time that is) The world began with 0 karmas, no positives no negatives, then humans appeared, and then the first man raped the first woman, how do you explain that?
Wow it only took 2 lines to debunk Buddhism. (1 line if you're on an HD screen)

We need some source material. I'm not sure that the actual Buddha had an opinion on, or interest in, all these religious ideas. Can anyone linky linky?

Bu bu bu bu Buddhism is a religion of peace.
Thanks for this response in all seriousness. Nice to know I am not the only one who doesn't give any religion a pass.

I gave up on Buddhism when I heard Glenn Hoddle give the same 'blame the victim' justification for why people are disabled.

You get the same bullshit defense of Buddhism as you do for any religion, "They(meaning other Buddhists) were not doing it right".
Yep, if you simply did Christianity, or Islam or Hebrew or Buddhism the right way those mistakes wouldn't happen.

Stop it. Nobody is objecting to your making the claim, we are simply objecting to the logic that leads you to the conclusion that Buddhism has special powers. It doesn't. It suffers the same flaws in logic any other religion does.
The only thing we want you to do is consider that you are wrong.
But if you are going to defend rape, no you won't get any sympathy from us. There is no way, no matter how much you want to water down the horrible act of rape, with a religious explanation as to why it happens, to expect us to be polite with or words in attempting to make a justification for it. We won't do that for Muslims or Hindus or Jews or Christians either.
There is a REAL reason rape happens, not a religious one. Rape is the perpetrator's way of filling a gap in their own life in lack of power or sense of importance. Rape is a selfish act by the criminal to give themselves power over others. It is psychological not magical. The words "sin" or "karma" are bullshit superstitious words that do not give humans the scientific understanding why humans cause harm to others.
I am sorry if my bluntness and word choice concerns you more than the harm done to a rape victim, but your lack of understanding reality is your baggage, not ours.

I have no problem of considering karma and rebirth are wrong. I have stated many times that i doubt it being there or not. i "miaharun" find it hard to believe that a horrible incident like rape can happen to one person by chance out of 7 billions people. I prefer to use karma (magic force if you may) for that explanation. Again, i am also one person out of 7 billion. People are different, everyone has a different personality. If everyone thought like you on this planet, there would be no creativity, nothing to look forward, everyone will be driving the same model of a car. Again, i have no problem of accepting karma and rebirth are "nonsense" or "magic". I just like to believe in it for the reasons i have stated prior to this post. I live by the dhamma but I don't shove it down anyone's throat. Peace !

It's a way of coping with the cruel nature of reality. I can understand the desire. We all need to find a way of coping.
Personally, it wouldn't help me cope, it would make me even more upset. But each to their own.
