Mental Health Lawsuit

Mental Health Lawsuit
A senators son attacked his father and then killed himself. The son was denied inpatient treatment because no inpatient beds were found and sent home in the care of his parents.

What do you think?

Quote:According to the lawsuit, Gentry determined that the younger Deeds needed to be hospitalized but released him to his father's care after being unable to find a bed. The complaint says Gentry claimed to contact 10 facilities, but phone records showed he only called seven — and two of the three that were not contacted had space available.

Sounds like they screwed up.

Can a member of the board of directors of a given company sue that company for living up to the mission statement that director approved during his time on the board ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

You can sue anybody for anything.  Winning is another question.

Sounds like a mentally ill person gave up bashing his head against the wall to seek help. He stopped at seven, and had no way to know the next one might have been different from the first seven... and saying ten as a round figure is what a person might say if it feels like he talked to a hundred, while waiting on hold at each of the previous seven.

A person with that much privilege can't even get the help he needs.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

I wonder how many other families in Virginia can say the same?

So, has dad lifted a finger (legislatively) to fix the situation, or does he remain a part of the problem ??

If I was on the jury I would laugh his ass out of the court room.  You can bet the asshole never voted for a penny toward mental health treatment or facilities.

Odds on, if this wasn't a senator's family, it wouldn't even make the news.

RE: Mental Health Lawsuit
Knowing that his/their son was on the edge, do the parents have any responsibility with the events? Could dad's pull have got him a jail cell for the night where he would be safe from himself and others? Sounds like he took the kid home and did not limit access to lethal objects./weapons.
