Rule Change (New Staff Power)

RE: Rule Change (New Staff Power)
This sounds sensible to me. Upholding the rights of someone skirting around the rules but wrecking every thread they go in is less of a priority than stopping that disruption in my opinion. I think you guys are very reasonable.

It is striking how a single random person can poison the atmosphere and mood of the entire forum and make everyone miserable - I've seen it here a couple of times now to varying degrees, and it is not pretty. Remember the going-ons around the time when Tibs shut the forum down for a while (allegedly for technical reasons Smile ), man everyone was pissed, staff was on strike, and I even left for a while because I didn't want to deal with the perpetual downers here. Better have some good leverage to keep everything going smoothly and without pain and suffering.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I think this is fair: Balancing the concerns of many against the posting privileges of one -- with one question.

Question: Would this option be susceptible to member reporting, or will it only be an option brought out by Staff in their thread?

Good question.

It will be an internal staff discussion. The report feature is there to report rule violations. We don't want reports for non-violations where members are suggesting that we invoke the Nuclear Option. That would be bad, I think.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I certainly agree, thanks for the answer.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

All for it, good addition. However, can't believe you besmirched nuclear's good name that way. For shame!
