A vegetarian world would not abide their existence any more than our omnivorous world already does...which is not at all. They're a liability.
Good points all. I did mean without human interference, but that's not really feasible, as you said.
When I was a kid, we sometimes had as many as a couple of hundred pigs on the place at the same time, and you're right - the ones that went feral were killed out of hand.

My youngest daughter is a Vegetarian, and her wife is a Vegan. They both refuse to eat meat due to the unethical treatment of animals by farms, and the way it's ignored. Not one myself though, cause I love a good hamburger. But to each their own.

I don't care about organic. I do buy meat from a butcher who is also a farmer who I know raises his animals and is kind to them and kills them as humanely as possible.
We aren't the only animals in the world who eat other animals, but we are the only ones who consider the possible intelligence of a food source as a good reason not to kill it. We don't tend to eat dogs or dolphins or apes.

Boru I grew up in pigs too. Never had as many as yall though. Just a few dozen, enough to fill my wheelbarrow with pigshit every week...so we could spread it on the sugarsand and grow peanuts. I love and hate pigs in equal measure. Probably don't have to explain that to you, though, eh?

They are cute...it's tough to take the razor to them...but you cant let em get balls as big as your own. Trouble trouble.
(totally just caused me shit, Losty...my daughter saw that picture and I had to explain that Pongo (our dog) has been trained to hunt them...can't have one as pet. Now you owe me....... I've been known to extract debt out of hides. )

For the religious, doesn't being a vegetarian kinda ruin the whole communion/transubstantiation thing?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Pigs are extremely intelligent though. Comparable to dogs.
Which is also the reason why I hardly ever eat pork. Just feel way too guilty.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

You shouldn't. They'd eat you given the chance. They'll even nibble, for a little taste, before you're dead.

I eat pork sometimes. Ham is my weakness. Pigs don't reach dogs on my scale. I grew up on a farm. I know the heartache of saying goodbye to animals you loved from birth because your mom needs something to go with the eggs for breakfast. Pigs are cool, you can teach them a lot of things. I don't think they're as smart as dogs. They taste amazing. Sometimes I just feel no shame for being a horrible horrible person. Pigs are delicious.
