That's awesome
I think we will see a trend of more and more theists (in secular countries at least) accepting evolution.

I don't think the writers of Genesis thought that their story really happened, they just made up a story based from Babylonian creation myths.
But then Archbishop James Ussher constructed a chronology of biblical timelines that moved the myth into real world dates where we get the 6,000 year old age of the Earth from.
Ussher's chronology showed that biblical stories about creation, flood myths, etc. were absurd, but instead of people realizing the bible was telling absurd stories, they thought it was science telling absurd stories. Thus young-earth creationism was born, a branch of religion that seeks to deny reality and force any scientific evidence into a biblical box.
Using the supernatural to explain events in your life is a failure of the intellect to comprehend the world around you. -The Inquisition

I would like to know why it is that you "believe" in evolution CL, if you don't mind. Is this a new emerging trend among Christians to "believe" in the theory of evolution, a new cool thing perhaps?
edit;
Holy shit, CL. Remember that female friend I told you about? You are EXACTLY like her. I swear to god.

Lol, what's the better way to say it? "I am confident that evolution is true?"
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Uhm, no - they don't. Not a shred. And they're not looking for it either. Their entire strategy is saying made-up nonsense with arrogant confidence and a smug expression on their faces, hoping that no one in the audience knows anything about actual science. Which they usually don't, because - America. :/

Pool, personally I don't see the conflict between evolution and the belief in God. We learned about evolution during science class in my Catholic grade school, so with me, there's never been a conflict. The scientist who developed the theory of the big bang was a Catholic priest.
