The Geek/Nerd Thread
Are you a geek and/or a nerd?

Do you like things that some consider geeky?

Sci-f?
Fantasy?
Online Comics?

Anything!

We're all nerds or weird to some and cool to others...

To me a nerd is someone over 30 who wears nerdy jumpers knitted by his mother that he still lives with.
The Uber nerds still haven't dismantled the HO scale train set in the spare room from 1978.

And then of course you have the cool nerds with the nice babes who run atheist forums.

It doesn't get much geekier than this...

I also like sci-fi, video games, math, and the occasional comic book.

Nerds of the world unite!
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Speaking of collections! I've been thinking about starting a meteorite collection. I'm a bit of an astronomy nerd. I'll nerd out on electronics too; building circuits and programming micro controllers is the peak of my geekyness.

Aren't meteors expensive?

I've been considering collecting fossils.

Yes! Meteorites can be quite expensive. They can be hundreds or thousands of dollars. I don't need boulders though! Lol I'd stick to tiny ones cause I'm on a budget.

Fossils would be pretty cool! I bet they're pricy too.

Not sure if I'm a true nerd but I enjoy math and quite a lot from the scifi and fantasy genres.  Also many would find my gardening/plant fetish kindof geeky.  Oh and I have doggy familiars.

I have to admit this of one of the webcomics I follow, occasionally:

I also enjoy Oglaf but, since it's an adult comic, I won't post a link.
