Pence has stated publicly that he considers the federal transgender-restroom requirement for public schools an infringement on state and local authority, which he considers the proper sources of control over public school policies. That's just standard GOP fare: when the right to discriminate is on the line, play the Federalism card. However, I'm not aware of him having an especially important role in that ongoing flap. Pence was the asshole who last year signed into law Indiana's so-called Religious Freedom Bill, which would have allowed bigots to discriminate against gays and lesbians under cover of their claimed religious beliefs. Of course, the Jesus freaks lapped it up. Luckily, the bill went the way of the dinosaur when those righteous Indiana believers realized it was going to cost their state revenue. You know, priorities. So yeah, fuck him. And Trump.
And on top of everything else, while Pence may appeal to the religious right and the Tea Party folk, his selection does nothing to reach out to the business wing of the Republican Party, in a campaign where Trump's financial difficulties have already been aired. The story may unfold, but I doubt it has a happy ending.
So, Pence does nothing for the Drumpster with any of the groups which despise him.
Which means Christie was ruled out because he is a sleazebag that is hated by the base because he hugged Obama and Gingrich is an over-the-hill asshole. Every one else apparently told Drumpf to go fuck himself. Pence by default. But here are 5 recent times when Pence and Drumpf came down on opposite sides of major issues. http://www.rawstory.com/2016/07/hypocrit...mp-agenda/
Here's a great bit from the Daily Show that shows how out of touch some Bernie Sanders supporters can be and how their hatred for Hillary is leading to irrationality...

But what you seem to be describing is one government with two sides to the Party, just named differently?... Minority governments are quite common in Europe. There are two possibilities when there's no majority after an election either a formal coalition (the favoured route in Ireland), or an informal confidence and supply arrangement where the biggest group rules but is constrained by the fact that the opposition groups have enogh votes to collapse the goverment if it tries to ram through something nobody else wants. Minority and coalition governments have worked quite well under parliamentarys systems.

Look what happened to us over here in 2010, when the general election returned a hung parliament and a Tory/Lib Dem coalition.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Hey, I can't help it if Nick Clegg is the kind of man that makes a wet sponge look stubborn. The Lib Dems had massive power within that parliament (and they'd have had more if a possible Lin-Lab coalition wasn't nixed two weeks before polling day) but were too big of a bunch of pussies to wield it. Of course, the fact that the MPs were orange book tories didn't help either.

The DNC could have avoided this by supporting Bernie, instead of Hillary, but they'd rather risk losing to Trump than letting someone in that will cut away at the corruption. I hope he's still around in four years, regardless of who wins this election. I doubt Trump or Hillary will get a second term.
