And when you have no choice?
For example if you want internet, your choices are typically limited.
See even the middle class and the rich should care. It is way too simplistic to say "don't buy it" for the reason you just said. The housing market is outrageous in big cities, so much so that in San Francisco that just renting a bunk in a room in an apartment with others sharing that same room has gotten to $1,000 per month. How anyone can expect someone on $7.25 or even $10 per hour still would not cut it at prices like that.
You simply cannot keep exploding the cost of living and not have wages keep up with it. But this is what happens when the rich create a plutocracy. More monopolies and higher prices.

I trust the private sector to skirt government regulations, product liability, and honest advertising whenever they can get away with it.

Well, things cost money and corporations who provide the services obviously want money and fucking lots of it. Now I am pretty left-wing myself, but the Internet (as it stands and to my knowledge) is a privilege not a right. If you can't afford it, then tough luck.
You don't have to listen to us evil liberal poor mooches if you don't want to. Here is a billionaire who agrees that pay is not keeping up with the cost of living..

Here we go again, as simplistic view of the market as a theist is with religion and law, and gun worshipers are with guns.
What is funny is you only say that when you get what you want. I have said the exact same thing you just did, and every time I say the same thing, all the sudden I am a private sector hating socialist commie.
No see prices are to high in everything and wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. You are trying to simplify it so that you can justify your own position.
Selection bias and sample rate error. When I talk about business being bad, I am talking about the climate, not every single business, and yes, I do boycott businesses I don't like. But if I say that I get accused of being anti private sector.
I think we should support rich people like Nick Hanoure and companies that pay livable wages, and boycott places like Papa Johns and Walmart.
So again, I do the same thing you do, you simply don't like my liberal economic views. But make no mistake liberals do not hate the private sector. Conservatives don't own the rights to the private sector. The bulk of the buying public is the 99% that the 1% depend on to make them rich. I simply think far too many at the top are greedy at this point in economic history.
What the fuck? I didn't call you that, nor did I say I don't like your views. I'm a fucking leftie myself mate.

Yep see this isn't even about open market, or one party or dictatorships. Friend and foe alike all invest in the global market. I agree, anything left to it's own devices can become abusive, because humans can be greedy.

"Scamming" people will run a business into the ground. Business is about making money: trading goods and services for filthy lucre. There are scammers in all walks of life, but that doesn't mean that all commercial exchanges are scams.
It is entirely possible to care for your customers while at the same time making a living by selling them goods and/or services.

Great, so why did you leave it at "don't like it don't buy it". That is the very simplistic answer I get from far to many republicans and Libertarians. Liberals say that too, sure, but it isn't that simplistic. Markets are not that simple.

Yes, and I wish more would do that. But to say, especially with big businesses, it is moving to the caring side is absurd, especially with big oil and banks.

I doubt we would have seen this thread if you had been charged even a nominal fee.
And we're off to the races. The words scammers, goons and terror(ists/ism) appear in your first response after my post. Yep, no hate there.
The internet and cost? I have friends that do not pay for the internet but access it almost every day. It certainly is not as convenient for them as they don't have it in their home. They simply travel to the closest free zone or library.
Businesses/Corporations, are like the rest of the population/humanity. There are some good, some bad, and the majority in between. You seen to love to focus on the bad only. If all were as bad as you make them out to be I doubt they'd be in business long.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I can't get too upset at a small businessman even if he did hand you a bill.
It's scumbags like this piece of shit owner of the St Louis Rams who burn my ass.

Quote:The St. Louis Rams' decision to relocate to Los Angeles brought a double dose of bad news for the city's residents on Tuesday: Not only are they losing the football team they've hosted for the last 21 years, they also still have to pay for the stadium they built to lure the Rams to their hometown in the first place.
