If I 'lost' my faith it would be due to rational reasoning and if my first time with the experience is anything to go by, I'd feel quite elated. My position currently is that disbelief would be irrational, so from this perspective I'd be disappointed that I'd lost my way. I'd think myself to have some kind of problem getting in the way of belief, and the resultant negativity detrimental to my overall health.
EvF -
If I lost my faith, I'd be depressed, then I'd get over it, then from time to time I'd think about death and get depressed again, and then I may or may not start believing again.
My blog: The Usual Rhetoric
If I lost my faith, I would be more depressed. I already am pretty low, but without the all merciful, there would be little motivation.
What about if you lost your faith in your beliefs Evie?
I don't have faith (at least not as far as I am aware). I certainly don't value trusting or believing in things without good reason/without evidence. I'd trust evidence over myself or anyone else any day - and I trust myself and others only when I feel there is evidence that I/they are trustworthy/have the evidence to back up what I/they believe.
If I found God I'd probably have to suffer another psychotic episode first. That is what happened the first time I believed ![]() EvF |
